Valentine's Day Weekend is just two weeks away. If you have formal date plans, then I have a dress for you. The Aleutia Aurora Gown is at the current round of Uber. It has a plunge neckline and a glitter overlay skirt that will have you sparkling all over the dance floor. I really love the glitter overlay skirt! Sparkles make me happy. This is a low resolution gif just to show the sparkles because pictures don't do them justice, but you really need to see them in world to see how cool they are.

The individual colors have a bow HUD that lets you change the bow into different colors. I chose white to go with my red dress for Valentine fun. My hair is the FREE VIP Group Gift hair at Truth. It is a gorgeous updo with curls and fairy lights- that I think is just perfect for a Valentine date.

It is prom time in RL. Girls all over are finding their formal wear for this special night. I used to go to a prom inside SL back when Harlow owned the coffee bean. I don't think those are happening anymore and I totally miss them. If I was going to prom inside SL, I would look no further than Just Because. They have so many gorgeous fitmesh gowns and they have just released two new ones this month. The satiny one on the left was just released at faMESHed and the velvet one on the right was just released at faMESHed Go. faMESHed Go is a new event with 20 designers. This is a main store HUD based shopping experience. I love that it is bringing people back to main stores! The Raven Silk Dress is a previous release that I loved and missed blogging, but it's been in my mind to make a picture using it. It has optional part-sleeves and cuffs that you can show or hide as I have done. I love this elegant formal and you can find it in the main Narcisse store. Exile is at Collabor88 with this slightly wild half-updo, A Fine Mess. It is kind of a mess, but a beautiful mess, with gorgeous waves.

Wasabi is at Arcade with the Gemma Updo. This is a very pretty full, loose bun updo and it comes in two versions with (shown) or without bangs. The Arcade is here for another week, so make sure to visit Wasabi and get a sophisticated updo while you are there. Just Because released a shorter version of this dress previously and I was really excited about a full length gown in this style. I love the silky textures in this design. The Charlotte gown can be found in the main Just Because store. I am also wearing the new Pink Fuel Skin, Posie that was just released at Lootbox. I am wearing the #13 Rare skin that comes with extras- lipsticks and eyeshadows. It comes with some glittery pink eyeshadow already on the #13 Rare skin that I absolutely love and I think looks stunning with my dress. I love that each skin in a gacha comes in 3 skintones. That definitely makes this one I want to play.

Happy New Year! I can't believe it is already 2018. In the world as a whole, I am ready for a new year and hopefully better times. In my personal life and SLife, 2017 was a great year. In SL I celebrated 15 years with my partner, Hiram, and we adopted a sweet little girl, Cindy Lu. My blog and designers that I blog for grew greatly last year. In RL, I am happy with a good professional level (I have my Master's degree) job and a happy family. I have a lot to be thankful for and am blessed. I am aware of the worst of 2017- Hurricanes, mass shootings, bombings, nuclear arms race, and Trump- just to name a few. Which is why I am looking forward to a 2018 with a better world list than that. However, I do think its OK and healthy to think positively though and look at the good in your own life and be appreciative of that.

I have been away on vacation for the last two weeks and in SL a lot happens in that amount of time. I am showing three new formals in this post from Narcisse, Just Because, and Kaithleen's. I was just sure that if I wore it, I would walk in and see 5 other girls wearing the same dress. However the dress I chose- someone else WAS wearing, lol. Tomorrow is New Year's Eve and I know many of you are looking for formals for this weekend sometime. I am wearing a new gown by Just Because that was just released in the mainstore. The top is glittery and the bottom is satiny and materials enabled- so in the right windlight/ lights it really shimmers (and I tried to capture that in my photo!). To really see it, you need to wear it in the game with ultra settings and materials on in your graphic preferences. You also need a light source (sunlight/ in game lights) and a pretty windlight helps too. Just Because has released a number of gorgeous fitmesh gowns this year so make sure you check out the store as you shop!

Last night was the Blithe Prom. This has been an annual event for years (although it used to be called Pixel Prom- cause the group was The Pixel Bean) and it is always a wonderful time. Blithe is an adult social group that gets together and has fun events owned by Harlow Heslop. Hiram and I had a wonderful time. I of course stressed over what to wear all day, lol. You can see my "Prom plurk stress mess" in this plurk. I also took a bunch of low resolution (just for fun) screenshots while I was at prom. There were 102 people at prom and there was no way in that kind of lag that I could have taken real high resolution shots. You can see all of my fun snaps, in this plurk. You can see more pictures in the Blithe Flickr group. Hiram somehow managed to get some really cute shots of us actually dancing at prom, however.

Maai has just released a beautiful fitmesh formal. The Yrena Gown is fitmesh for Maitreya and Slink (Physique and Hourglass) and is available in 13 Satiny colors. Snow (Maai designer) has released a few more fitmesh gowns as well in the last few days (one that is latex and one with a lace overlay design). I have missed new Maai releases and am so happy to see new fitmesh gowns from this designer. The main store has been re-organized into an applier side and a fitmesh side. I can't wait to see all the original fitmesh designs that will be released.

Just Because released this stunning two piece lace overlay gown at faMESHed. I fell instantly in love with the white version. Something about white lace makes me happy! NanTra is at Gacha Garden with the Let's Go Crazy pose pack which is a Prince tribute. This set is a very eclectic mix: guitar poses, bathtub poses, and this dove pose.

I am wearing a new mesh head, Catwa Candy. This is a basic head (not premium) so you can get it (without any options or add-ons) fairly inexpensively. All the new basic, lower cost heads at Catwa are making it fun to play and switch it up. I really liked the new the skinnery skin, Daria, at The Chapter Four on this new Candy head. The chapter four is celebrating its third anniversary and there are a ton of FREE gifts that you can pick up like this lipstick I am wearing.

This gown has an intricate string design on the front and back. The string, metal, and gemstone are all texture change via HUD. I chose the rose gown and made my string design a pretty mint color. This is about the fourth gorgeous fitmesh formal gown I have seen from Just Because. They are really starting to be a leader in fitmesh formal wear.

I saw this dress on flickr and knew that I would have to get it and make a picture. It is so stunning. Plus I am addicted to fitmesh formals. Just Because released this at the current round of uber. I paired it with a new enVOGUE updo that was just released in the main store. I also added a new Just Magnetized hairbase that is an exclusive release at Skin Fair 2016. There are four hairbase appliers made for Catwa at the event. I am horrible with hairbases for blond hair and I thought it was just hard, but nope I just did not know how to do it. The owner of Just Magnetized, Justyna Magne, literally spent about an hour training me to tint this hairbase and it looks incredible. I am so thankful and I will share her Pro hairbase tips later in this post.

Tinting a Hairbase Tips (especially for blond/light hair):

1) Use AnaLutetia AvatarOpt2 whiter Windlight setting

2) Turn off Atmospheric Shaders

3) Wear a hair with roots

4) Apply your hair base to your mesh head

5) Use tinting HUD that comes with your mesh head to tint and match to the roots of your hair

I was so into my fashion and amazing hair base that matches my hair, I forgot to mention this picture place. If you like the movie, Casablanca, you really need to visit. It has lots of places (including the plane area) from the movie.
